U.S. Embassy warns of radicals at Ukrainian gay pride parades

by alex

The US Embassy in Ukraine asked the Americans on the territory of the republic to be careful when holding LGBT prides in a number of Ukrainian cities. This was reported on the website of the diplomatic mission.

In particular, citizens of the United States were warned of the threat of violence at gay pride parades by extremists. The embassy stressed that earlier the radicals “obstructed the holding of prides in Ukraine through counter-demonstrations and physical attacks.”

Americans were urged to avoid crowds, and to behave with restraint and caution when near large gatherings.

Earlier, Ukrainian radicals have repeatedly attacked LGBT people and opposed the limitation of their discrimination. For example, in July they attacked a rave rally of LGBT activists near the office of the President of Ukraine, and in June they went to a protest rally against the “gender dictatorship” and the adoption of a law punishing prejudice against sex minorities.
