This was announced by the governor of the West Pomeranian Voivodeship Adam Rudowski, reports Gazeta Wyborcza.

“In total, there are 20 victims aged from five to 62 years. Among the wounded are six children, six victims are citizens of Ukraine,” Rudavsky noted.

Two victims, 22 and 58 years old, are in critical condition, four more victims are in serious condition.

The injured were taken to seven hospitals in the region.

It is known that in Poland, on March 1, a 33-year-old resident of Szczecin in a Ford car hit people crossing the road at a pedestrian crossing, and then hit pedestrians on the sidewalk. He did not brake, the car was moving at a speed of 30-40 km/h. The driver tried to flee the scene of the incident, causing an accident with four cars, where people were also injured.

“According to available information, a car drove at high speed into a group of people who were crossing a pedestrian crossing,” Tomasz Kubiak, a representative of the West Pomeranian Voivodeship Fire Service, previously said.

According to the police, the attacker deliberately drove into pedestrians. The man was not under the influence of alcohol or drugs; in recent years he had been treated in a mental hospital. By decision of the local prosecutor's office on Saturday, the attacker was arrested for three months. He is charged with attempted murder of multiple people, causing a traffic accident, fleeing the scene of an accident and causing injury.
