The network has information about a fresh joint development of two Russian companies at once – RuVDS and Orbital Express. They signed an agreement on the experimental launch and operation of the data center in orbit.
It is expected that the satellite server will be launched into orbit as early as 2022, Vedomosti writes. At the same time, the issue price will be about 75 thousand dollars (5.7 million rubles). The delivery of the spacecraft into space will be handled by the Soyuz carrier rocket.
According to the developers, the data center will be able to receive and initially process information from other spacecraft. This will allow filtering low-quality images from space without sending them to Earth. Also, as an advantage of such a data center, its security is called, especially in the matter of storing information.
