Two new dinosaur species discovered in England by paleontologists

Paleontologists from the University of Southampton analyzed the bones of dinosaurs found earlier on the Isle of Wight off the coast of England, according to a statement on the university's website.

As noted, on a beach near the city of Brighton, parts of two skulls were found, and later part of a tail. According to scientists, the bones belong to the early Cretaceous period, their age is over 125 million years.

The discovered skulls differ both from the baryonyx and from each other, according to study author Chris Barker. This suggests that many more different types of spinosaurs lived in the territory of modern Britain than previously thought.

One dinosaur was named Ceratosuchops inferodios by paleontologists , and the other was named Riparovenator milnerae.

Earlier it was reported that in the Ulyanovsk region, on the territory of the geopark “Undoria”, employees of the paleontological museum found two ichthyoswarids at once, belonging to a species unknown to science. And before that, scientists found in Morocco the remains of an unusual dinosaur with bone spines.
