Two more European countries will close the airspace for aircraft from Russia. The preparation of the corresponding decree in Denmark and Ireland became known from the statements of the ministries of foreign affairs of the states, RIA Novosti reports.

As Irish Foreign Minister Simon Coveney wrote on his Twitter account, Ireland is going to close its airspace to all Russian aircraft in the near future. “We call on other EU partners to do the same,” he stressed. The minister also added that Ireland supports new sanctions against Russia, which will be agreed on Sunday, February 27, during the EU summit, and measures to provide assistance to Ukraine.

A similar message was posted on Twitter by Danish Foreign Minister Jeppe Kofod. According to her, the kingdom will close its airspace for aircraft from Russia and at the upcoming meeting of EU foreign ministers will insist on the introduction of such a ban on the territory of the entire association. Denmark's attitude to the sanctions against Russia Kofod did not specify in the message.
