Apple is working on laptop models with more powerful processors and a completely new design.
When Apple presented new MacBooks in November of last year, the farewell to Intel processors was heralded. The new MacBooks are powered by Apple's own M1 ARM chip. Now the next Apple laptops are to follow, which are also based on Apple Silicon.
Apparently Apple is working on a MacBook Pro with a display diagonal of 14 inches and a model with a 16-inch screen. Both laptops are said to be powered by stronger Apple chips. Specifically, we are talking about 8-core and 12-core processors.
Completely new design
Apart from the inner workings, Apple should also work on a completely new design of its MacBooks. According to earlier information, the new look will be based on the design line of the latest iPad and the current iPhones.
Accordingly, the new laptop models have flatter edges and a much narrower frame around the display. There is good news regarding the connections. Because apparently the upcoming MacBooks should have more ports again.
More connections again
It is still unclear which connections should actually be added. But it could be a slot for an SD card and an HDMI port. The touch bar, which replaces the conventional physical function keys, is also to be deleted.
When loading the upcoming MacBooks, Apple is said to be using tried and tested methods and is apparently allowing the MagSafe connection to return. However, it should be the classic connection with magnets and pins – not to be confused with the wireless, inductive charging system of the current iPhones.
Possible sales start
It is unlikely that the new MacBooks will be presented as part of the spring event. Production for the new models will not start until the second half of the year. A sales start would therefore be more likely in October or November.
