Two German companies supply epoxy resin to the Russian Federation, used for the manufacture of Shahed-type attack drones.
This is stated in an investigation by journalists “Consequence Info “.
According to journalists, the Russian company Composite Products, which produces Shahed drones, purchased resin from two German companies – R&G Faserverbundwerkstoffe and Goettle Advanced Products GmbH & Co.Kg. It received raw materials from German suppliers already at the height of the war – in 2022 and 2023.
The investigation suggests that German companies did not know that Composite Products LLC was collaborating with Alabuga, but they could check the Russian counterparty and see a connection with the Russian military-industrial complex.
Journalists said that Goettle Advanced Products GmbH & Co.Kg. According to customs data, it sells almost all of its products to Russia. Throughout last year, it supplied epoxy resin to the Russian enterprise Composite Products.
In turn, R$G Faserverbundwerkstoffe supplied almost 8.5 thousand kg of epoxy binder worth about $80 thousand in 2023. 337 drones can be made from this raw material, because one drone requires 25 kilograms of this substances.
R$G Faserverbundwerkstoffe also supplied epoxy resin to Ukrainian drone manufacturers. Thus, German business cooperates with Russia and Ukraine at the same time.
