In western Colombia on Sunday, January 31, two boats crashed at once, on which there were dozens of people at that moment. As a result, at least 12 people died, the fate of 30 is still unknown, their search continues.
El Tiempo newspaper reported this with reference to local authorities. It is clarified that the tragedy took place near the city of Tumaco in the Nariño department. Most of the victims of the double shipwreck are children: of the 12 victims found by rescuers, seven are minors.
They managed to get 30 people alive from the water, all were handed over to doctors. Meanwhile, it is not yet known exactly how many passengers were on both sunken boats. According to preliminary data of rescuers, the fate of about 30 people is unknown, they are considered missing.
