Several users of the social network Twitter have filed a lawsuit against Roskomnadzor due to the slowdown in its work. Pavel Chikov, head of the Agora human rights organization, announced this on Monday, June 7, during a conversation with reporters.

– A class action lawsuit against Roskomnadzor in the Tagansky District Court of Moscow due to the slowdown in Twitter was filed by politicians Ilya Yashin and Yevgeny Domozhirov, photo editor Meduza Yevgeny Feldman and the municipal deputy of the Russian capital Vadim Korovin, the TASS news agency quoted him as saying.

Recall that in March Roskomnadzor slowed down the work of the social network due to the refusal of the service management to remove illegal content. The slowdown was implemented on 100% of mobile devices and 50% of stationary devices. In May, the agency heeded restrictions on the service on fixed networks, but kept the slowdown of Twitter on mobile devices.

Pavel Chikov noted that in their statement the plaintiffs assert that they never published illegal content, did not call for violence, did not justify violence or discrimination.

– Interference in the normal functioning of the service by Roskomnadzor employees is an interference with the right of administrative plaintiffs to freely express their opinion, – the lawsuit says.

Users who have filed a lawsuit have demanded an end to the action against Twitter.
