A court in Moscow has fined Twitter 19 million rubles ($ 1.2 million) for refusing to delete messages calling for participation in illegal actions, Zulfiya Gurinchuk, a spokesman for the Tagansky court, said.
The company was found guilty of six administrative offenses. Taking into account the previously received fines, Twitter is obliged to pay 27.9 million rubles, reports “Interfax”.
As the website kp.ru wrote, in April Twitter appealed against the decision of the world court district No. 422 of the Tagansky district of Moscow on a fine of 8.9 million rubles for refusing to delete information calling for minors to take part in an unauthorized action.
On April 2, the court imposed three fines on Twitter at once, the total amount of which amounted to 8.9 million rubles. Three days later, Roskomnadzor announced the decision to extend measures to slow down the traffic of the social network until May 15 this year.
