Twitter has blocked the account of US President Donald Trump for 12 hours “as a result of an unprecedented violent situation in Washington.” This is stated in a statement by the social network.
Twitter also threatened Trump with permanent blocking of his account if he does not delete the last three posts, which, according to the company, violate social media rules.
In addition, Facebook and YouTube blocked a video of Trump addressing protesters outside the Capitol, urging them to go home, and claiming that the election was “stolen” from him.
The work of the US Congress was suspended on January 6 after protesters supporters of President Donald Trump stormed the building. Trump himself has called on supporters to act peacefully and support the police. Later it became known that the Capitol building in Washington was cleared of protesters. During the protests in the building, the woman was shot and later died.
