NEW YORK, June 23. / TASS /. The Twitter administration has begun accepting applications from users who want to charge subscribers for access to published materials. This was announced on Tuesday by representatives of the social network.
“Starting today, you can apply to be one of the first to try Ticketed Spaces and Super Follows with your audience,” reads a post on Twitter. The Ticketed Spaces function in the future will allow users to publish exclusive audio and video content. Only those subscribers who have purchased an electronic ticket will be able to view it. Its cost can range from $ 1 to $ 999, the message says.
The Super Follows feature allows you to charge subscribers a monthly fee for accessing a portion of your posts. There are payment options of $ 2.99, $ 4.99, or $ 9.99 per month.
As noted in the administration of the social network, users who activate Ticketed Spaces or Super Follows will be able to “receive up to 97% of the proceeds” until they earn a total of $ 50 thousand. After that, the share that Twitter receives will grow from 3% to 20%. In addition, online stores Google and Apple are also entitled to a portion of the proceeds.
Currently, only US-based users can apply. Both features will initially only work as mobile apps. Earlier, Twitter stated that only those users who have at least 10 thousand subscribers will be able to charge the audience.
