The microblock service Twitter began testing a new algorithm for protecting users from grief and spam. Otherwise, this algorithm is also called safe mode.
As stated in the Twitter blog, if a conflict arises between users, then the algorithm can automatically block for 7 days the one who offends the opponent. The blocking is automatic, but a user who is considered offended can cancel it at any time. It is emphasized that the algorithm not only assesses the presence of insults, but also a different experience of interaction – if a user with the security mode turned on entered into a quarrel with someone, then the algorithm will not block the account if there is a sufficient amount of adequate correspondence between these people.
It is noted that the algorithm is now being tested on a small group of English-speaking users.
