The social network Twitter has added the tag “this is misleading” to the “report a tweet” option. Thus, the company wants to fight disinformation on the Internet. In Russia, the function is not yet available.
“We are testing a feature that allows you to report tweets that you think contain misleading information. Starting today, users in the US, South Korea, Australia will be able to mark a tweet as “misleading” after clicking the “report on tweet” button, Twitter said in a statement.
According to a recent study by the consulting and auditing company Deloitte, more than 70% of surveyed American users consider fake news on the Internet a serious problem. To make matters worse, many fake and disinformation campaigns are well organized and run by dedicated agencies.
