Honored coach of Russia Eteri Tutberidze named her only favorite in figure skating. She told about this in the film “Eteri Tutberidze. Straight Talk ”, which was announced on the air of Channel One.
“I'll be honest: I have only one favorite – this is my daughter [figure skater Diana Davis],” Tutberidze said. The coach admitted that she scolds the 17-year-old athlete for not reaching her feet. According to Tutberidze, Davis listens to her, although he resists, as is often the case in relations between children and parents.
Diana Davis and Gleb Smolkin perform in ice dancing. The athletes made their debut in the senior national team this year. Last season, the couple won bronze at the Russian Championship among juniors. In the final of the Junior Grand Prix, the dance duo became the sixth, and at the Junior World Championships, the Russians showed the fifth result.
Tutberidze has trained several Olympic champions, as well as the winners of the world and European championships in women's single skating. Among her pupils are Yulia Lipnitskaya, Alina Zagitova, Evgenia Medvedeva, Alexandra Trusova, Alena Kostornaya, Anna Shcherbakova, Kamila Valieva and others.
