Turkish firefighters managed to localize almost all forest fires in the country
Turkish firefighters and specialists from specialized services took control of almost all forest fires that raged in the country over the past week. This was announced on Tuesday by the press service of the Turkish presidential administration on Twitter, TASS reports.
“Out of 154 forest fires that have occurred in our country in the past six days, our country, as a result of mobilization of efforts, has taken control of 146,” the administration said.
At the same time, despite the successful localization of fires, fires are still observed in the area of Marmaris and Bordrum in the province of Mugla, in the forests of Manavgat and Alanya in the province of Antalya, in the province of Adana. Nevertheless, the danger to residential areas and tourist sites was avoided.
Fire began in the republic six days ago, covering a number of coastal areas, in some of them hotels and residential buildings had to be evacuated. Eight people became victims of the fire, more than 850 were injured.
Earlier it was reported that there are no Russians among the victims of forest fires in Turkey. This information was officially confirmed at the Russian Consulate General in Antalya.
