Turkey wants to buy 4.5 million doses of Pfizer vaccine
Turkish Health Minister Fahrettin Koca said the country intends to purchase a vaccine from the American company Pfizer and its German partner BioNTech in order to vaccinate the population against coronavirus. RIA Novosti reports.
He noted that in January 2021, the country intends to receive 1-1.5 million doses of the vaccine, and by the end of March – 4.5 million doses.
“Since this vaccine was developed by two ethnic Turks, we wanted to use it in Turkey from the very beginning. The problem was the responsibility of the manufacturer. During the negotiations, this issue was partially resolved,” said Koca.
According to him, Turkey's agreement to receive the supply may include up to 30 million doses of the drug.
