Turkish Foreign Minister Cavusoglu: Ankara is waiting for Russian President Vladimir Putin to visit

Ankara is expecting a visit from Russian President Vladimir Putin after his trip to the opening of the Olympic Games in Beijing. This was stated at a press conference by Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu, RIA Novosti reports.
“As you know, the head of our state [Recep Tayyip Erdogan] invited Vladimir Putin to visit Turkey. During January, negotiations were conducted, but it did not work out with dates. In the coming time, after Vladimir Putin visited the opening of the Beijing Olympics, we were told that we could be presented with a date. We are waiting for the implementation of this visit,” the minister said.
Earlier, the press secretary of the Russian leader Dmitry Peskov said that Vladimir Putin accepted the invitation of the Turkish leader to visit the country. This will happen as soon as their schedules and epidsituation allow.
