Production of the Russian Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine will begin in Turkey. This was reported to RIA Novosti by the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF).
Thus, RDIF signed an agreement with a leading Turkish manufacturer of pharmaceutical products on the production of a Russian vaccine in the country. “The potential production volume is millions of doses of Sputnik V vaccine per year, and the issue of a possible expansion of production in the future is also being discussed. The vaccine will be supplied both to the domestic market within Turkey and to other countries, ”the fund said.
The RDIF also noted that Turkish partners are showing great interest in the vaccine.
Earlier, the fund agreed with Hungary on the supply of the domestic vaccine against coronavirus Sputnik V.
There are currently several COVID-19 vaccines in the world. Thus, two vaccines are registered in Russia: Sputnik V and EpiVacCorona. On December 5, Moscow started vaccination against coronavirus with Sputnik V. The US also began inoculating the population with drugs from Pfizer / BioNTech and Moderna. Pfizer and AstraZeneca vaccines have been approved in the UK.
