Turkey spoke about the creation of a joint center with Russia on Karabakh

The Turkish Defense Ministry spoke about the signing of a protocol according to which the Joint Turkish-Russian Center for Nagorno-Karabakh will operate. Anadolu agency writes about this on Twitter.

Following the talks, Moscow and Ankara signed an agreement on the foundations and principles of the Joint Center. Countries will now prepare to begin its work soon.

On November 16, Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that the Turkish military would be involved in monitoring the ceasefire regime in Nagorno-Karabakh within the framework of a joint Turkish-Russian observation center. According to him, sending military personnel to Azerbaijan meets the national interests of Turkey.

On November 9, the leaders of Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan adopted a joint statement suggesting an end to hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh from November 10. The parties to the conflict stop at their positions. Azerbaijan will gain control over the territories of Aghdam, Gazakh, Kelbajar and Lachin regions. Russian peacekeepers will enter the region: their units will be deployed along the line of contact and the Lachin corridor, which connects Nagorno-Karabakh with Armenia. Also, a Russian-Turkish monitoring center is being created on Azerbaijani territory, which will monitor the observance of the ceasefire.
