Relations between Turkey and Russia continue to develop despite a number of controversial issues. Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu told about it, reports Reuters.

It is noted that for Ankara, relations with Russia are an important part of foreign policy. “Despite a number of issues on which we cannot come to an agreement with Russia, we are striving to maintain a lively dialogue and come to common denominators,” the Turkish Foreign Minister said. He cited the resolution of the military conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh as an example of a successful dialogue.

A ceasefire statement in Nagorno-Karabakh was signed on November 10 by the leaders of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Russia. Under the terms of the document, the Armenian and Azerbaijani forces stopped at the positions they occupied during the fighting. Three more regions will be returned to Baku's control by December 1. Russian peacekeepers will be stationed along the line of contact and the corridor connecting Karabakh with Armenia.

At the same time, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said that Russia and Turkey will jointly carry out a peacekeeping mission. The Kremlin then emphasized that there are no plans to deploy Turkish troops in Karabakh.
