Turkey again sent Syrian militants to fight in Nagorno-Karabakh. It is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to a source.
More than a thousand militants from Syria were sent to the region on October 16. In addition, another batch is allegedly being prepared for shipment.
The fact that Syrian mercenaries, supported by Turkey, were sent to fight in Nagorno-Karabakh, became known back in October. Armenia stated that four thousand militants are fighting on the side of Azerbaijan. However, after a while, according to The Wall Street Journal, hundreds of mercenaries asked to return because of the fierce fighting. At the same time, independent journalist Lindsay Snell wrote that the militants continue to fight in Nagorno-Karabakh: Turkey allegedly transports them from Libya. Ankara denies all charges.
The conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) escalated sharply on September 27. Armenia and Azerbaijan accused each other of shelling positions and settlements on the demarcation line.
