Turkish Defense Ministry: the purchase of Russian C-400 systems was a necessity

The purchase of the Russian S-400 Triumph anti-aircraft missile systems was a necessity, not a choice. So the decision was explained by the Minister of National Defense of Turkey Hulusi Akar, his words are quoted by RIA Novosti.
“This is a system that will not harm anyone if there is no attack or threat. Our priority is the security of our country, 84 million people. This is a system that our allies did not provide, but we provided ourselves from Russia, ”Akar said.
Earlier, he noted that Turkey's military operation in Syria will depend on the security of the borders of the Turkish state. He added that Turkish troops will do “whatever is necessary” to fulfill the mission of ensuring peace on Turkey's borders. According to some sources, Ankara is preparing new military operations in northern Syria.
