Turkey did not impose any restrictions on the movement of Russian ships through the Bosphorus due to the situation in Ukraine. The Cumhuriyet newspaper writes about this, citing a source in the Turkish government, TASS reports.

On Saturday, February 26, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced Turkey's decision to ban Russian ships from crossing the strait. Ankara has not made any official statements in this regard.

“The embassy has not received any official notifications from the Turkish side regarding the closure of the straits for Russian warships,” the Russian embassy in the Turkish capital commented on the situation.

Earlier, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, commented on Western countries' assessments of the situation around Ukraine. She called them “reports from the madhouse” and stressed that she continues to follow the statements of the “Anglo-Saxon duo”.
