Turkey has closed airspace for Russian aircraft flying to Syria

Turkey has closed airspace for Russian military and civilian aircraft flying to Syria.

This was announced by Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu, TRT Haber reports.

“We closed the airspace for Russian military aircraft, and even for civilian aircraft that flew to Syria and took away soldiers. We gave permission to three months. They had permission until April,” he said.

Turkey and Deutsche Bank are in the final stages of negotiations for a billion euro loan to finance the purchase of liquefied natural gas, which will reduce the country's dependence on Russian import. Turkey is diversifying natural gas supplies and will now buy American LNG.
