Tsunami-like: Vacationers in Portugal witness rare natural phenomenon

In Portugal, the coast was “covered” by a huge blue cloud, which seriously scared people.

In Portugal, beachgoers recorded a terrifying natural phenomenon. Yes, the sky was covered by a huge “cumulus cloud” reminiscent of a tsunami.

Eyewitnesses wrote about this on social networks.

People present on the beach did not hide their shock. The footage quickly spread across the Internet.

As it became known, the wind from the Atlantic brought the elements to the cities of Povoa de Varzim and Figueira da Foz.

Fortunately, there are no reports of casualties or victims. The natural phenomenon does not pose a threat to the population.

However, in 2019, Portugal faced Hurricane Leslie. The storm raged across the central and northern parts of the country. Winds of 176 km/h left trees toppled and 300,000 homes without power.

Earlier, a huge rock debris shift occurred on the east coast of Greenland, causing a megatsunami 200 meters high. Seismologists observed the aftermath for another 7 days after the event.

The elements visited Greenland in September 2023 and went virtually unnoticed. The fact is that there was nothing to destroy or kill in this virtually deserted place with a harsh climate. And only a year later, scientists reported the appearance of a type of wave that caused the waters of the fjord to “stand on end” and beat against the rocky shores for a week.
