British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss is going to threaten Russia with grave consequences for the country's economy and the status of an international pariah during her visit to Ukraine. This is reported by Reuters with reference to a statement published in advance by the head of the Foreign Office.
“We are ready to talk. But we are clear that if they decide to continue on the path of aggression, there will be dire consequences that will cost the Russian economy dearly and bring it the status of a pariah, ”the British Foreign Secretary said in a message.
Trass' trip across Europe includes visits to Poland, Ukraine and Germany. She will hold meetings with Polish and Ukrainian Foreign Ministers Zbigniew Rau and Dmytro Kuleba, and will also speak at the Munich Security Conference on 19 February.
Earlier, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said Truss should apologize for spreading lies and misinformation. On February 15, Zakharova said that the information spread in London about Russia's invasion of Ukraine “under a false flag” was “a clumsy attempt to save face.”
