The current President of the United States, Republican Donald Trump, refused to recognize the results of the presidential elections, according to which the Democrat Joseph Biden won the victory. This became known to the television company CNN.
According to the source, Trump does not intend to admit defeat even after the members of the Electoral College approved the voting results in the country. At the same time, as noted by CNN, in personal conversations with his aides, Trump indicated that he would not remain at the head of the American administration for a second term, despite his attempts to challenge the election results.
However, Trump himself has not yet publicly reacted to the electoral vote. The press secretary of the head of the White House, Kaylee McEnani, also did not tell reporters about the reaction of the country's leader.
Formerly-elected US President Joseph Biden said that Trump's campaign headquarters made “dozens and dozens of attempts” to challenge the election results in the legal field. According to him, these attempts were unsuccessful and actually exhausted themselves.
Biden received the electoral college votes needed to win the presidential race. He received 55 electoral votes in the state of California, thus gaining 302 votes. To win the presidential race, you need to get 270 electoral votes. The Democrat called the electoral college decision a clear victory over the incumbent Donald Trump.
