Trump's Favorite Newspaper Appealed to Him: What It Requests for Ukraine

The New York Post calls on Trump to “not punish” Ukraine by withholding military aid needed to counter Russian aggression.

Russian President Vladimir Putin understands only force and he will continue to “insult and ignore” the United States and President Donald Trump personally unless the White House decides to defend Ukraine.

This is stated in an editorial in the New York Post, which is called Trump's favorite publication.

The newspaper's editorial board, addressing the White House owner directly, recalled his fruitless conversation with Putin, who did not agree to a ceasefire until the “root causes of the conflict” were eliminated.

“For Vlad [i.e. Vladimir Putin], the 'root cause' is the existence of Ukraine. After your call, he launched the largest drone and missile strike of the war, killing at least one person,” the editorial said.

The New York Post calls on Trump to “not punish” Ukraine by withholding military aid needed to counter Russian aggression.

“You remember the despair on the face of the Ukrainian reporter with whom you had a touching conversation in the Netherlands, her fear for her husband and family. Why are we threatening to leave her?” the publication asks the American leader.

The newspaper denies the claim by “distorted ideologists” that aid to Ukraine somehow harms the United States and is not in American interests, recalling that the weapons Kiev receives are paid for from confiscated Russian assets and European grants and are an incentive for American industry to produce more.

“Our military can use this money — and the intelligence they gather during Ukraine's successful resistance — to build better drones and anti-missile technology. It lays the foundation for the Golden Dome,” the publication noted.

New York Post warns Trump of geopolitical catastrophe that could result from Ukraine's defeat.

“If we allow him [Vladimir Putin] to succeed, if we help him to succeed, it will not only threaten Europe. It will show China that our alliances are fragile… Russia and China have one strategic goal: to counter the United States. One missile “kept” in stock today is 50 that we will have to launch in the future, because this axis has been strengthened,” the publication noted.

Let us recall that shortly after a conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Donald Trump stated that he was not confident in his ability to stop Russia’s war against Ukraine.
