The current US President Donald Trump has promised that he will continue to challenge the election results in courts. Fox News reports.
“No, this is not the end,” Trump said on Fox & Friends. – We do not stop and intend to continue moving forward. We have a lot of local lawsuits. ” He reiterated that he had evidence of ballot stuffing and other falsifications.
The US President admitted that there was no time left for a judicial fight. “We are trying to speed up the process as much as possible, but there is a limit,” Trump explained. “We were given very little time.” He declined to answer a question whether he would attend the inauguration of Democrat Joe Biden.
Since the election, Trump and other Republican officials have filed more than 50 lawsuits challenging the election results. Violations were proven only in one case, and they concerned a small number of votes. The rest of the claims were lost, not accepted for consideration, rejected or withdrawn.
On Saturday, December 12, Trump was defeated in Wisconsin. The court rejected the request for a review of the election results, as the plaintiff was unable to show clear violations of the directives of the local legislature. Earlier, the US Supreme Court dismissed the suit filed by the state of Texas. The judges found no reason for Texas to challenge the election results in four other states.
On November 3, 2020, the next presidential elections were held in the United States. According to media estimates, Democratic candidate Joe Biden got the necessary electoral votes to win and beat Trump. Biden has already proclaimed himself US President-elect.
An electoral college vote is scheduled for Monday, December 14th. Trump is expected to receive 232 votes, Biden 306. The votes will be counted by Congress on January 6th. The President-elect will take the oath of office at the inauguration on January 20.
