The expert noticed that the human head is a small target, and it would be difficult to hit it without optics.
If If the attacker on US presidential candidate Donald Trump had shot 4 cm to the right, the bullet would have hit the politician’s skull, and he could have died. But for such accurate shooting you need to have special knowledge.
Firearms and ammunition expert Lars Winkelsdorf spoke about this in an interview with BILD.
Winkelsdorf analyzed the video of the assassination attempt on Trump. According to the expert, the shooter could have trained before the attack.
“He hit Trump with the first shot. The fact that the ex-president was hit only in the ear was, in the end, simple luck… Four centimeters to the right from the shooter's point of view, then the bullet would have hit Trump's skull, and the former US President would probably be dead,” rated by firearms expert.
In his opinion, the shooter was experienced and understood weapons. The attacker was lying on the roof approximately 135 m from Trump.

“You can't just shoot, it's difficult. To do this you need to practice and have special knowledge. The head as a target is small, without optics it would be difficult to hit. In addition, the killer probably used special ammunition,” said Winkelsdorf.
At the same time, he noticed that the shooter hit Trump with the first shot.
“The deviation from the target could have been caused by too much wind between the shooter and the target,” the expert suggested.
By the way, law enforcement officers found explosives in the car of Thomas Matthew Crooks, who shot Trump.
