US President Donald Trump said he would like to meet with Chinese leader Xi Jinping and Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.
The US President said this during a conversation with journalists at the White House, Reuters and AP report.
“When we figure this all out (negotiations on Ukraine – Ed.), one of the first meetings I want to have is with the leader of China Xi, President of Russia Putin. And I want to say, let's cut our military budget in half,” Trump said.
He also said that he would seek negotiations with China and Russia on denuclearization (nuclear disarmament). Trump says there is no reason to build nuclear weapons.
As AP notes, such a move runs counter to decades of traditional Republican national defense.
