There is a high probability of negotiations between the US and Iran in the near future.

US President Donald Trump will make a decision on Iran within the next two weeks.

White House Press Secretary Caroline Leavitt announced this at a briefing on Thursday, June 19.

“Based on the fact that there is a significant likelihood of negotiations with Iran in the near future, I will make a decision whether to intervene or not within the next two weeks,” she quoted the American leader as saying.

The White House press secretary explained that with this statement, Donald Trump wanted to stop speculation in the media about the decisions made by the president and about whether the United States will be directly involved in the conflict in the Middle East.

Earlier, The Wall Street Journal reported that the White House had already approved a plan for a possible attack on Iran.

As is known, this is not the first time that the US President has used a two-week deadline to make important decisions.

The last time he gave Russian President Vladimir Putin exactly two weeks was on May 28 to make sure that the aggressor state really was striving for a ceasefire.

Subsequently, American journalists calculated that since April of this year, Trump has set such a deadline three times to resolve the issue of war in Ukraine.

Recall that Reuters reported that US and Iranian officials had spoken on the phone several times in the wake of the Israeli attacks that began on June 13. The interlocutors were trying to find a diplomatic solution to the conflict.
