US President Donald Trump said Iran had given advance warning of missile strikes on a base in Qatar, but said there were no casualties.
US President Donald Trump has commented on Iran's strikes on a US airbase in Qatar, calling them a “weak response” and thanking Tehran for the warning that prevented casualties.
The US President wrote about this on the social network Truth.
According to Trump, Iran fired 14 missiles, of which 13 were intercepted, and one was deliberately not shot down because it was heading in a dangerous direction. The American leader noted that the shelling did not result in casualties and caused minimal damage.
“Iran has officially responded to our destruction of their nuclear facilities with an extremely weak response, which is what we expected and to which we responded effectively,” Trump said.
He added: “I am pleased to report that no Americans were harmed and damage was minimal.”
The US President separately expressed gratitude to Tehran for warning Washington about the strike in advance.
“The most important thing is that they seem to have run out of emotion. I hope there will be no more hatred,” Trump added, calling on Iran to make peace and noting that he was ready to enthusiastically call on Israel to do the same.
Earlier, a US military spokesman said that no US military base, except for the one in Qatar, had been attacked by Iran. This is the Al Udeid base.
