Thousands of supporters of US President Donald Trump rally for fair elections in Washington. Radio station NPR reported about it.
They gathered at Freedom Plaza near the White House. Some of the protesters went to the building of the Supreme Court. Protesters are holding American flags, many of them wearing T-shirts and caps with Trump's slogan Make America Great Again! (“Let's Make America Great Again”). They demand an end to the theft of votes and oppose electoral fraud.
A smaller rally of the incumbent's opponents is taking place on the same square. Several skirmishes occurred between the parties. Republicans ousted opponents from the square and tried to snatch their posters, but they did not resort to violence.
Earlier, a US court rejected a petition by Trump's supporters, who demanded that ballots received by mail after voting day be ignored in Pennsylvania. The head of state announced victory in Pennsylvania because his supporters did not have access to view 700,000 ballots.
On November 7, Democratic candidate Joe Biden won 290 with the required 270 electoral votes. Having secured his victory, he declared himself the President-elect of the United States. Trump, in turn, said that the elections are not officially over yet, and the results will be appealed in court. He believes that Biden hastened to call himself the new leader of the country, since the elections are not over yet.
