The claim that Haitian migrants eat domestic animals has made the Republican candidate a laughing stock on social media.
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has promised to carry out a mass deportation of Haitian migrants from Springfield to Ohio. The promise came after he falsely accused Haitians of eating locals' pets during a debate with Kamala Harris on Tuesday, September 10.
Reuters reports this.
“We're going to do a big deportation in Springfield, Ohio,” Trump said at a press conference at his golf resort near Los Angeles.
This time, he did not repeat his claim from the presidential debate that migrants eat dogs and cats, which made the Republican candidate a laughing stock on social media.
At the same time, Donald Trump did not make any other compelling arguments for deporting Haitians.
Most of the 15,000 Haitian migrants living in Springfield are in the United States legally.
President Joe Biden previously called for an end to the attacks on Haitian society.
“This has to stop, what he’s doing. “This must stop,” he said.
Recall that the German Foreign Ministry responded to criticism of its energy system by US presidential candidate Donald Trump during the debates by ironically noting that Germans also “don't eat cats and dogs.”
