Donald Trump
The President of the United States Donald trump predicted the possible emergence of a vaccine against the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 already for the presidential elections, scheduled for November 3 this year. About it reports Reuters.
This statement was made in interview to the head of US journalist Geraldo Rivera broadcast his broadcast. In response to a question, trump said that the vaccine may appear much earlier than in the end of the year.
When the host clarified whether it will be by 3 November, the President replied: “I think, with some share of probability it is possible to them, but generally around this time”.
Earlier it was reported that some doctors are concerned about the impact of trump to this question: they believe that for the sake of the election, he can put pressure on the makers of the vaccine, why its quality is lower than it could be.
USA, UK, European Union and Japan have already reserved the 1.3 billion doses of vaccines against coronavirus, despite the fact that the current formula has not yet been created. Analysts have expressed concern that doses are not enough for 7.8 billion, and other, less rich countries will be “last in line” to receive the vaccine. Another obstacle to rapid global immunization is that to develop immunity is likely to require not one, but two doses.
