In his opinion, sanctions are “killing the dollar”.
The Republican presidential candidate for the United States, Donald Trump, said that he intends to lift sanctions against Russia and Iran if he wins the elections.
He said this during a speech at the Economic Club of New York, reports New Republic.
He said that the introduction of sanctions “kills the dollar.”
“If we lost the dollar as a world currency, I think it would be equivalent to losing a war, which would make us a third world country. Because look, you're losing Iran, you're losing Russia, China is trying to make its currency dominant. There are so many conflicts with all of these countries that you're going to lose the dollar's dominance. That's why I want to use sanctions as little as possible,” Trump said.
He said that China is trying to make its currency dominant in the world, so Trump wants to use sanctions minimally and only against countries that “deserve it.”
Recall that it was previously reported that Trump offers Elon Musk a position if he wins the election.
In addition, we previously reported that due to copyright infringement, Trump may become a donor to Harris's election campaign.
