The American president has not committed to visiting Ukraine.
US President Donald Trump announced frequent conversations with Russian leader Vladimir Putin and said that he hopes for a visit from the Kremlin master to the United States.
He spoke about this on Wednesday, On February 12, at a press conference in the Oval Office of the White House, which was broadcast by ABC News.
Trump assured that his conversation with the Russian president will continue.
“I will deal with President Putin primarily by phone, and we are finally expecting to meet. In fact, we expect him to come here and I will go there, and we will also meet, perhaps, in Saudi Arabia, when we will have our first meeting,” he said.
At the same time, the American president did not commit to visiting Ukraine. He also countered that he had excluded Ukrainian President Zelensky from the negotiations.
When asked whether Ukraine is an equal participant in the peace process, Trump replied: “That's an interesting question. I think they should make peace.”
Recall that at the same press conference, US President Donald Trump said that he was against Ukraine's membership in NATO.
