The Pakistani government has decided to nominate the President of the United States for the Nobel Peace Prize in 2026.
The Pakistani government has recommended US President Donald Trump for the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize for his “decisive diplomatic intervention and decisive leadership in the India-Pakistan crisis.”
The Pakistani government press service reported this.
They wrote that Trump “demonstrated great strategic foresight and brilliant statesmanship” in his diplomatic work with Islamabad and New Delhi, which helped de-escalate the situation, ultimately leading to a ceasefire and preventing “the broader conflict between the two nuclear-armed states that could have followed.”
“This intervention is a testament to his role as a genuine peacemaker and his commitment to resolving conflicts through dialogue,” the statement said.
Trump then published a post in which he wrote that he would not receive the Nobel Peace Prize for “ending a series of wars.”
“I will not get a Nobel Peace Prize for this, for stopping the war between India and Pakistan, between Serbia and Kosovo, I will not get a Nobel Peace Prize for keeping peace between Egypt and Ethiopia, and I will not get it for implementing the Abraham Accords in the Middle East! No, I will not get a Nobel Peace Prize, no matter what I do, including Russia/Ukraine and Israel/Iran, no matter what the results are, but people know, and that's all that matters to me,” he concluded.
Recall that in May, US President Donald Trump said that India and Pakistan had agreed to a complete and immediate ceasefire following US-brokered talks.
