Trump “prevented Iran, the world's leading state sponsor of terrorism, from acquiring the most lethal weapons on the planet.”
US President Donald Trump has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize for his ceasefire agreement between Iran and Israel.
This is reported on Fox News.
Donald Trump was officially nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize by Georgia Republican Buddy Carter, who said the US president “played an exceptional historic role” in ending the “12-day war” between Israel and Iran.
In a letter to the Nobel Committee, he noted that the agreement was evidence of “the same spirit that the Nobel Peace Prize seeks to honor: peacemaking, war prevention, and international harmony.”
The report also said Trump “prevented Iran, considered the world's largest state sponsor of terrorism, from acquiring the deadliest weapons on the planet.”
“President Trump's leadership during this moment of crisis embodies the ideals for which the Nobel Peace Prize is awarded,” Carter said.
Trump's Nobel Prize Nomination History
This is not the first time Trump has been nominated for the Nobel Prize. This year, Congressman Darrell Issa nominated him for the peacemaking impact of winning the 2024 election.
On June 21, 2025, the Pakistani government, through Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, nominated Trump for the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize for his role in brokering a peace settlement between India and Pakistan in May. Pakistan called the diplomatic intervention “decisive” and “astonishing diplomacy” that prevented a potential nuclear escalation. However, less than 24 hours after the nomination, Trump ordered an attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities, drawing criticism from Pakistan, which called the move by the American president a violation of international law.
Earlier, in February 2025, Donald Trump was nominated by Norwegian Congressman Christian Tribring-Gedde for the agreement on normalizing relations between Israel and the UAE (Abraham Accords).
