Trump believes the war between Iran and Israel is over.

President Donald Trump speaks during a news conference at the NATO summit in The Hague, Netherlands

US President Donald Trump said Israel's conflict with Iran had ended and praised the US military.

The head of the White House said this at a press conference during the NATO summit in The Hague, Sky News reports.

Trump again called the US strikes on Iranian nuclear sites, whose success has been questioned, “destruction.”

“This incredible show of American power paved the way for peace with the historic ceasefire agreement reached late Monday night,” he says.

He went on to boast about his own role in brokering a ceasefire between Israel and Iran.

“And we call it a 12-day war. I've talked to a couple of people. I guess it just sounded like the right name. It was a 12-day war. And we think it's over. I don't think they're going to take revenge on each other. I don't think so,” Trump said.

According to the American president, the United States also “reaffirmed confidence in American deterrence,” which “has no analogues.”

War with Iran could resume

However, Trump acknowledged that war between Iran and Israel could soon start again.

He was asked what makes him so confident that the war between Israel and Iran will end.

Trump responded: “I’ve dealt with both of them, they’re both tired, they’re exhausted. They fought very, very hard, very viciously, and they were both glad they could go home and get out of here. And can we start again? I think it will happen someday. Maybe it will start soon.”

Let us recall that during this speech, Donald Trump also expressed hope that the “terrible situation with Russia and Ukraine” would be resolved.
