Trump and Musk Clash Again – What Happened This Time

by alex

The most powerful people in the US had a public spat yesterday. Trump threatens to close the billionaire's business.

American billionaire Elon Musk has once again criticized President Donald Trump's budget bill. He also threatens to create a new political force if the document is approved by the US Congress.

This is stated in his microblog in X.

“Every member of Congress who ran on a promise to cut government spending and then immediately voted to increase the debt by the largest amount in history should hang their heads in shame. They will lose the primaries next year — if it's the last thing I do on this Earth,” Musk said.

The businessman later wrote another message, where he noted that if the “crazy spending bill” is passed, he will initiate the creation of a new political force called the America Party.

Trump didn't keep us waiting for an answer:

“Musk will have to close his business and return home to South Africa without government subsidies. Perhaps his activities should be investigated?”

Recall that Donald Trump said he was “very surprised” and “disappointed” by former ally Elon Musk's criticism of his key budget bill. Elon Musk, who spent more than $250 million on Trump's election campaign, was outraged by the president's “ingratitude” and said he would not have won the election without him.

In response to Musk's criticism, Trump threatened to halt his massive business deals with the federal government, which are the foundation of the SpaceX program.

“The easiest way to save money in our budget, billions and billions of dollars, is to cancel Elon’s government subsidies and contracts,” Trump wrote on his social media.

Elon Musk, meanwhile, has said Donald Trump should be impeached. The billionaire says J.D. Vance should replace the president after suggesting Trump was implicated in the Epstein cases and arguing his tariffs would cause a recession.

Trump responded by calling Musk a “junkie.”
