US President Donald Trump advised the head of the House Judiciary Committee, Jerry Nadler, to accuse Russia of a wave of street pogroms. The corresponding post appeared on Twitter.
The head of state reacted to the words of the democrat Nadler, who called the violence of members of the ultra-left Antifa movement a myth. According to Trump, they are anarchists, whose illegal activities have video evidence. “Jerry, blame Russia, Russia, Russia for this!” – suggested the American president.
At the end of May, Trump promised that the Antifa movement would be officially recognized in the United States as a terrorist organization.
Mass protests have been taking place in dozens of US cities since the end of May, accompanied by riots and clashes with police over the death of African American George Floyd. A black man died in Minneapolis on May 25 after being mistreated by a police officer.
Protesters cite racism and police brutality as the cause of Floyd's death. In some states, protests escalated into riots with pogroms, looting, gunfire and arson.
