The administration of new U.S. President Donald Trump has launched a “special project” to investigate the actions of prosecutors who handled cases against the rioters Capitol January 6, 2021.

This was reported by CNN with reference to the relevant document.

“Acting Washington, D.C., U.S. Attorney Ed Martin has launched an investigation into prosecutors who brought obstruction of justice charges against some of the rioters that were ultimately dismissed by a Supreme Court ruling last summer,” the report notes.

Martin has ordered all information related to the charges to be shared with two appointed prosecutors.

Note that Ed Martin, who was appointed acting U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia, was previously a conservative activist and commentator who organized the “Stop the Steal” movement in support of Trump's claims of a “stolen” election.

In addition, we previously reported that a man with a torch and a flare gun was arrested near the Capitol.
