Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell accused incumbent President Donald Trump of provoking his supporters to take part in the Capitol riots. The Washington Post newspaper reports.
He stated that the crowd was “indoctrinated” by Trump and “other powerful people.” “We will have a peaceful and successful inauguration,” McConnell assured, commenting on the approval of the 46th US President.
Earlier it was reported that the current US President Donald Trump will hold his own farewell ceremony on the day of the inauguration of President-elect Joe Biden on January 20. The American leader wants a military parade and farewell to supporters, associates, and current and former employees of his administration on the red carpet at his last ceremony as president.
On January 7, the US Congress approved the victory of Democrat Joe Biden in the presidential election. This was preceded by riots and the storming of the Capitol by supporters of the incumbent Republican President Donald Trump, during which five people died.
