Donald Trump and Joe Biden
During the debate, US President Donald Trump accused his opponent Joe Biden of allowing Crimea to join Russia. Interfax reports his words at the televised debates.
“It was under him that Russia took a part of Ukraine for itself,” the American president said.
Earlier, Trump accused Biden of receiving money from Russia. At the same time, he himself said that he had never received any sums from the Russian side.
Crimea became part of Russia after a referendum held in March 2014, in which the majority of the region's residents who voted supported such a decision. Ukraine and Western countries refused to recognize the results of the plebiscite.
