About 250 protesters called on the Canadian prime minister to demand an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
To ensure that Trudeau, along with his security and the delegation, could safely leave the restaurant, it was necessary to attract about a hundred law enforcement officers to control the crowd.
The police created a clear corridor on the sidewalk and street, along which the Prime Minister walked to the car and drove away from the protest site. Protesters chanted “cease fire now” and held Palestinian flags.
As a result of the clash between police and protesters, one law enforcement officer was injured. Two violent protesters were detained.
According to law enforcement, as soon as Trudeau left the restaurant, the protesters dispersed.
