Trudeau Gives Biden Montreal Meat After US Stanley Cup Win
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau sent Montreal-style smoked meat to US President Joe Biden after American hockey players defeated Canadian players, TASS reports.
It is noted that the “Tampa” club defeated the Canadian “Montreal” in the final of the Stanley Cup of the clubs of the National Hockey League.
In June, the Prime Minister of Canada offered Biden to bet on winning the final of this competition. The US President agreed.
On the eve of the White House press service reported that Biden and Trudeau had a telephone conversation, during which the American president thanked the Canadian politician for the Montreal-style smoked meat. It is clarified that the gift was sent as a congratulation in honor of the victory of the American team.
In addition, the politicians discussed bilateral relations between the United States and Canada, and also touched on the topic of the detention of two Canadian citizens by the PRC authorities in 2018.
Recall that in June Joe Biden, at a meeting with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, presented him with an American-made touring bike and a bicycle helmet. Johnson, in turn, handed Biden a photograph of a mural painted in Edinburgh in honor of Frederick Douglas, an American fighter for black rights.
