In the Indian state of Gujarat, 15 people were killed when a truck ran over workers sleeping on the side of a road. This was reported by BBC News, citing local sources.
The truck driver lost control after colliding with a tractor. The workers hit by the car were migrants from the state of Rajasthan. Six of them were injured, but survived, they were hospitalized.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his condolences to the relatives of the victims on Twitter. He called the incident tragic and said he was praying for the recovery of the injured.
According to BBC News, workers in Indian cities often go to bed on the sidewalk, putting themselves in danger. In addition, the British channel recalled last year's case when 16 people died under the wheels of a freight train: they spent the night right on the tracks.
